Amanda R. Merchant, ASLA

Amanda's studies covered a range of scales from detailed site design to community planning. With a working knowledge of landscape plants and urban forestry, she earned a minor in horticulture. Amanda was selected to participate in the 2010 KEM Studio, an interdisciplinary design workshop. She also completed the 2009 Europe Travel Abroad program through the Landscape Architecture department at Virginia Tech. Amanda received the Virginia ASLA Merit Award in recognition of her academic work, and graduated with honors.

Prior to joining ABL Amanda worked with the Community Design Assistance Center of Blacksburg where she assisted facilitation of a community design charette and collaborated on a conceptual master plan for the Meadowbrook Center, Shawsville, VA. Amanda's professional experience also includes both summer employment with Waynesboro Landscape and Garden Center and an internship with Engineering Ministries International where she was stationed four months in Delhi, India collaborating on a master plan for a primary and secondary school for a village in Ladakh, India.
